New NFL Bag Policy to Enhance Public Safety

The NFL is enhancing its public safety policy this year to include the type of bag you can bring into the stadium and onto stadium property (e.g. Champions Square). This is a league-wide policy that applies to all stadiums including the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The new policy should speed entry on game day.

The following types of bags are allowed into the Superdome and Champions Square on Saints Game Day:

  • Vendor bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12." (The bags may be hand-carried or have a shoulder strap) OR a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bag no larger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap. This can be carried separately or within a plastic bag. (Wallets cannot exceed 4.5" x 6.5")

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at Gate A on the Ground Level and Gates D and H on the Plaza Level. After the game begins, medical bags will be searched and tagged at Gates C and G on the Plaza and at Gate A on the Ground Level.

Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, the following: all purses, bags or containers larger than a small clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags.
